Temperatures will be taken when you enter the church building. Each family will be asked to sign in should the need arise for contact tracing. We ask that you read through the entire letter so you know what to expect, but here are some highlights: We recommend you review this letter sent to all members which includes information about the reopening including a listing of some of the changes to our familiar routine so that we can all still stay as safe as practical while participating in the service. After more than a year of meeting virtually, in-person worship will resume Sunday, May 16 th at 10:30am. The taskforce met virtually and in-person to review details for reopening. The taskforce will meet again on the 24th to re-evaluate the positive test rate for Milwaukee County and the safety of our community to worship in person again. The taskforce met virtually and has made the recommendation, with the guidance from the Wisconsin Council of Churches, to pause in-person worship and resume zoom worship for the next three weeks. We look forward to worshiping in person with you all soon. We will remain virtual worship through at least February 20th and will meet again on the 21st to evaluate where our community is at that time. We will continue to follow the guidance of the Wisconsin Council of Churches, and wait for the positive test rate to reach 10% or less. The taskforce met virtually, reviewing the positive test rate and other COVID factors. We will continue to follow our COVID safety protocol of wearing masks, social distancing, and not singing. The session met, reviewing the positive test rate and we have reached less than a 10% positive test rate and have decided we will resume in-person worship this Sunday. The session met, and voted to update several of our COVID safety protocols while we are gathered for worship now that the positive test rate is currently below 2%. Our top concern is care and compassion for the community.
However, we ask that you still take precautions by staying home and utilizing our online worship option if you are feeling sick and/or have COVID-like symptoms. This decision was based on the benchmark that children 6 months and older are now eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19. The session voted to make wearing a mask optional during worship. Worship is available in-person and on Facebook Live.
